Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today reviewed the progress on disposal of claims and objections received in connection with Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls and their data entry in the ERO NET, here at a meeting.

The meeting was attended by District Election Officer Mohammad Aijaz Asad, EROs, AEROs and BLOs of the District and other senior officials.

The Div Com stressed on multi-layered checking by DEO, ERO, AERO, and BLO to verify the correctness of e-rolls / disposal of Forms 6, 7, 8 and 8A and also asked BLOs to ensure correctness of the e-roll.

He also conducted physical verification of the rolls, especially where highest Additions and deletions were observed.

He also held a detailed discussion with the EROs, AEROs with regard to the progress made on the NSVP Portal, ERO NET Portal and publishing of the PVC EPICs in the district.

He also enquired about the Public grievances system at district level as well as ERO system and SMS services being provided to the new voters.

The Div Com gave on spot instructions to EROs and BLOs to verify all claims and objections carefully and dispose-off following due procedure so that up-to-date and error free electoral rolls are prepared particularly in view of forth coming elections. He also advised the officers to issues notices where there involves addition or deletions.

A detailed discussion was also held with regard to error detecting software DSE, logical errors.

District Election officer informed that there are total 4,02,797 voters including 12,779 new voters in the district.

He said a total of 24414 applications were received for additions out of which 23412 have been accepted, while 978 were rejected, while 1003 pleas were have received for deletion, out of which 967 were accepted and 36 rejected.

The DEO further informed that rolls have been thoroughly checked to ensure that names of all the eminent personalities of the district are included and notices are served while making deletions and reasonable opportunity to be heard is given in all cases.

It was also informed that a round the clock control room has been set up at district level for receiving public grievances. Moreover the public can directly contact the EROs and AEROs.

Meanwhile, the Div. Com also reviewed the progress made under Special summary revision for district Poonch and advised the authorities to ensure that no eligible voter is left or deleted.
