Famous Sunday market opens after remaining closed last week
Srinagar, Dec 23 : The famous ‘Sunday Market’ was open today in the summer capital, Srinagar after remaining closed last week in view of strike called by separatist against death of seven civilians in security force action in Pulwama on December 15.

Hundreds of vendors have put up their stalls in the 3-km-long weekly market from Radio Kashmir (RK) crossing to Hari Singh High Streets (HSHS) — including historic Lal Chowk, the nerve centre of the summer capital — which attracts thousands of buyers from different parts of the valley.

Despite chilly weather conditions, vendors were doing brisk business since this morning as customers have come out in large numbers to buy warm cloths, besides other items.
