Kashmir will get some respite from dipping temperatures ahead of snowfall predicted by Meteorological department between 1st and 2nd of January.
While talking to Valley Media Service, an official from MeT department said that around late night of 1st January to 2nd January evening there is a prediction of light snowfall in plains while as heavy snowfall can be expected at isolated places.
“There is an ongoing system over the state which will result in snowfall in the valley, as the clouds are there, so the night temperatures are expected to rise”, he Said.
The officials said that in coming few days the temperature will stick around zero degree Celsius which will result in improvement in frozen water supplies that resulted due to the drastic dip in night temperatures over past week.
The official further said that next spell of snowfall can be expected between 4-5 January due to an emerging system.
The night temperature in Kashmir was recorded -4.2 in Srinagar. “The night temperatures will improve from tomorrow due to cloud cover which will give respite to the people”, the official said.
