The Labour Department Ganderbal organized an awareness programme on implementation of various J&K Constriction Works Welfare schemes here today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Naseer Ahmad Wani was the Chief Guest on the occasion who distributed Rs. 20.88 lakh among 90 beneficiaries as financial assistance under various welfare schemes.
The assistance includes Rs 7.335 lakh as educational assistance, Rs 2.845 lakh as chronic and disability assistance, Rs 8.20 lakh as death compensation and Rs 2.50 lakh as professional assistance among building and other construction workers.
During the programme, ADC said the need of the hour is to aware labourers of the district and get them registered with the department for their own benefit.
On the occasion, a detailed lecture was presented regarding online Registration process under J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Act, 1996.
It was given out that during the current fiscal, Labor Department Ganderbal has distributed Rs. 33.56 lakh as financial assistance among 109 registered beneficiaries.
Assistant Labor Commissioner Ganderbal, Cluster Head, J&K Bank Ganderbal, Branch Manager, J&K Bank, Mini Secretariat Ganderbal, and a large number of labourers from various parts of the district were also present on the occasion.
