District Development Commissioner (DDC) Mohammad Aijaz Asad today reviewed  progress on mega projects here at a meeting of district and sectoral officers.

During the meeting, core issues with regard to developmental schemes were discussed threadbare. The projects which were reviewed in the meeting include   construction of Government Medical college Rajouri with sanctioned cost of Rs 139.00 crore. It was informed   that slab of 4th floor is under progress, approach road has been completed up to fair weather level and the foundation for the girls hostel is under progress.

Regarding the progress on construction of ANS Canal  being constructed at a revised estimated cost of Rs 85.53 crore, the meeting was informed that work at portal P2 has been executed –tunnel excavation length of 95 metres completed, while  the work on tunnel excavation is under progress from both the ends.

The DDC also reviewed the progress of construction of indoor sports stadium kotranka. It was informed that super structure of main hall has been raised up to 23 ft, while  construction of column is under progress. Ground flooring masonry plaster has been completed.

Regarding the progress on Eklavya Model School, the concerned executing agency appraised that foundation work is under progress.

The DDC also briefly discussed the saubhagya scheme. It was informed that against the target of 20005 housholds  6407 have been electrified till date and the remaining will be electrified soon.

The DDC also reviewed the progress of projects under health sector including 100 bedded additional accommodation at SDH Nowshera, 50 bedded additional accommodation at SDH Sunderbani, construction of sub district hospital Teryath, construction of GNM school Rajouri and construction of ANM school Thanamandi . The DDC was appraised that the work on these projects is going on in full swing.

To expedite the works, the DDC fixed timeline for the projects by the concerned departments and executing agencies. He asked officers to  speed up the pace of work so that these projects can be completed within the fixed time line. The DDC  directed the officers to prepare a detailed list of the completed and under execution developmental schemes and highlight the main issues of under construction projects. Manager JKPCC was directed to mobilize the machinery to start the construction of Badala Mang Bridge .
