The residents of Bela Salamabad, a small village in Kupwara district approached the Army with a long prevailing problem of water shortage in Darakunjan village. The troops interacted with locals and learnt that existing water storage facility was not functional due to wear and tear from regular usage and harsh weather conditions.  The villagers were facing a lot of problems in their daily routine.

Keeping the Awaam in mind, a quick and effective response was taken to handle the situation, and a water storage tank was installed by the troops at the desired location in the village. The facility was made functional on the installation day itself which came as a big relief for the Awaam as the daily routine was greatly hampered by the water shortage. The initiative taken by the Army was appreciated by all the villagers and will surely strengthen the bond and bonhomie between ‘AWAAM  & JAWAAN’.
