Srinagar, 26 Mar 2020. As a part of its continuous efforts to help and assist the people, Zainakote and Nihalpura Army Camps reached out and distributed rations among the daily wage workers on 26 Mar 2020. Since the precautionary lockdown is in place to check the spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), a lot of daily wage labourers are facing trouble finding sustainable work. A total of 49 civilians were distributed the packages containing essential rations and food supplies. Many of these labourers had come to J&K from West Bengal to work in the local industries. These labourers, who were facing shortage of rations and essential commodities, appreciated the noble initiative of the Army. The officers present also took this opportunity to explain and create awareness about the ongoing threat of COVID-19 and the preventive measures required to be taken. The beneficiaries were also assured of every help and assistance that may be needed in the coming days.
