INDIAN ARMY LAUNCHES NUTNUSSA T-20 CRICKET TOURNAMENT

With an aim to positively engage the youth of the area and to give young talent a chance to showcase their skills, Indian Army inaugurated a T-20 Cricket Tournament at Nutnussa, Kupwara on 25 Jul 2021.

The tournament named Nutnussa Premier League is one of the biggest cricket tournament of the area and 32 teams from all over Kupwara District are participating in the tournament including teams from Lolab and Handwara. The tournament is scheduled over a period of one month being held at Lotus Land Ground, Nutnussa and would be beneficial in channelising the energy of youth into sports and prevent them from going into drugs.

The inaugural friendly match between the teams of Kandi and Nutnussa was played today and the locals displayed unmatched enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

The locals and elders of the nearby villages have appreciated the efforts of Indian Army in engaging the youth positively and channelising their energy and talent in positive direction.

The event was very colourful with a huge turnout of civilian spectators from the village and looked like a festival of Sports and happiness to promote peace in the Valley.
