Lt Gen DP Pandey, felicitated the guests and performers. In his address, he spoke at length about the Kashmiri women, who have led from the front and shaped the history of Kashmir. He said that men, by nature, are impulsive and maybe misled into actions, detrimental to the family or society, while women are the nurturers. They are wiser, when it comes to deciding, what is the best for their families and children and thus they have a much more important role to play, in the society and the nation and ultimately it is upto the women, how a society and nation moves forward. He counted on the women of Kashmir, to expose and oppose those, who misguide the youth, while their own children flourish. He said “I sincerely hope and pray that the youth of Kashmir – boys and girls, grow in an environment of happiness, peace and progress, something that was beautifully presented in the music video we released today. For Kashmir – an environment that respects and nurtures women’s equality, has been true for centuries. We hope to get back to those roots”.
