Srinagar, May 04: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha met Shri Faisal Ali Dar, Padma Shri Awardee from Jammu Kashmir, at the Raj Bhavan here today. Sh Faisal Ali Dar who received Padma Shri award in sports held discussions with the Lt Governor on the promotion of different sports activities across the UT. He also shared his innovative ideas to inculcate the spirit of sports in every child through youth development programs and providing training for national and international sports. Police arrests 04 drug peddlers in Budgam; Contraband substance recovered

May 04: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested 03 drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession. Vijaypur MC seizes loads of goods during anti-encroachment drive

SAMBA, MAY 04: Loads of goods and articles were seized today by Vijaypur Municipal Committee(MC) during an anti-encroachment drive conducted along Jammu- Pathankot National Highway (NH) and Market area of Vijaypur town. The drive was conducted by the Municipality Vijaypur in association with JK Police after receiving complaints from various quarters about encroachment on Highway, service lanes and minor roads. The anti encroachment team was led by Executive Officer Ravi Saini and SHO Rajeev Kumar. The team seized all the goods including tools kept by the shopkeepers on the lanes and removed reharies and make-shift shops from the service lanes.
