Ganderbal, May 12: To promote innovation, incubation and other developmental activities in in Jammu & Kashmir, the Design and Innovation Centre (DIC) of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Grassroots Innovations Augmentation Network (GIAN) Ahmedabad, at varsity’s Green Campus here on Thursday. Tourism Department cracks whip on erring service providers

Deptt. slaps fine on Lalit, Taj for exorbitant rates, other service deficiencies SRINAGAR, MAY 12: Continuing with its efforts to check overpricing of tourism services by service providers, a team of officers of the Tourism Department conducted checks of various hotels in the city to check the services and their pricing being offered to visitors. During the checking, the team of officers slapped fine on two hotels, Taj Vivanta and Lalit Grand Palace for exorbitant rates and other service deficiencies. The units were also served notices that action under relevant clauses of J&K Registration of Tourist Trade Act and other legal action would follow for the violations and if course corrections are not done. Farooq Shah SRINAGAR: Three more State Focus Groups (SFGs) held a consultative meeting to finalize the position papers prepared by the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) at the State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) in Bemina here today. The event marked an end to a series of hectic online and offline exercises wherein experts from various fields and faculties chosen by the NCERT put in their best efforts to finalise the position papers on some 25 themes/areas. CGM NABARD INAUGRATES SPRINGSHED PROJECT IN ANANTNAG 

(300 Hectares of land to be treated under the project)  NABARD has launched a Springshed based watershed project in Khiram area of Anantnag.  The project was inaugurated by Chief General Manager NABARD J&K, Dr Ajay Kumar Sood in Presence of Additional District Development Commissioner Anantnag Shri Bashir Ah Wani. The project with total outlay of 0.45 Crore aims to rejuvenate springs in Khiram and its adjacent villages, recharge the ground water and improve facilities for agriculture and irrigation, reforestation and efficient use of natural resource.
