Baramulla started the new training year by organizing first Annual training camp of NCC Cadets of North Kashmir across the higher reaches of Shamsbrari ridges on the Line of Control. GREEN INITIATIVE BY SENTINELS OF KERAN

Srinagar, 14 May 2022. Plantation drive was organized in Keran Sector in an effort to avoid soil erosion, damage to operational tracks and play the crucial military role by acting as view cutters. Army had aggressively undertaken afforestation last year & 4550 saplings were planted with focus on ensuring survivability of maximum saplings. On 14 May 22, 1000 saplings of Kail and Deodar were planted by troops in Keran Sector in continuation of the effort. This drive is aimed at gradually, systematically and permanently enhancing the forest cover.

GOC 28 INFANTRY DIVISION VISIT TO NCC CAMP KERAN

Srinagar, 14 May 2022.  Maj Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, GOC 28 Infantry Division visited the NCC Camp organised by 3 J&K Battalion NCC at Keran. A pioneering  camp in many ways, it is the first one ever, being organised right on the Line of Control along the Kishan Ganga River in Keran. Upon arrival the General Officer was given an impressive Guard of Honour by the NCC Cadets. Witnessing their synchronised movements and immaculate turnout, the General Officer complimented the cadets and felicitated them. The NCC cadets were thereafter addressed by the GOC who shared experiences of his own NCC days and motivated them to learn and work hard to achieve success in life. J&K Govt working towards doubling power generation capacity in 3 years

SRINAGAR, MAY 14: To make Jammu and Kashmir power surplus in the next four years, Power Development Department is working earnestly towards doubling electricity generation capacity in the Union Territory in three years. The J&K government has initiated a large scale capacity augmentation programme to address the current power deficit in the UT. Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir was able to harness only 3,500 MW of electricity in the last 70 years but the power generation capacity in the Union Territory is all set to be doubled in the next three years and trebled in seven years.
