School Girls of Machhal celebrate Rakshabandhan with Soldiers of Indian Army

*Macchal, Kupwara 08 Aug 2022* Today 15 school girls of Macchal gathered to celebrate Rakshabandhan with soldiers of Indian Army deployed in Machhal Sector. This initiative to celebrate the festival of love and bonding between brothers and sisters was taken by Ms. Rinkle Kapoor, a social media influencer who primarily covers content on Indian Army and sacrifices made by the soldiers as a mark of solidarity and respect to the soldiers deployed far away from their near and dear ones The School girls tied rakhis to soldiers at Machhal, Dudi & T’Suntwari and wished them good health, happiness, and good luck in their missions. This initiative by the school children was reciprocated by the soldiers with great enthusiasm and brought a smile to their faces.

Jashn-e-Kupwara, a sports & cultural event was organised at Kupwara on 07-08 Aug 22.

On the first day a cycle rally cum race was organised from three different locations on the line of control i.e. Tithwal, Keran & Ringpain in Kupwara district. The aim was to promote cycling and sprit of adventure. More than 100 Participants included ladies children and elderly from Kashmir and other parts of India. At the end of the race, the winners were given medals and cash prizes. All participants were also given participation certs. To celebrate the free spirit of Kashmiriyat, Sufism and sense of rejoicement, the event included cultural programs music and poetry to showcase talent of locals and children. Lt Governor announces ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to Kin of those lost their lives in tragic shooting stones incident at Shiv Khori

RINAGAR, AUGUST 08: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 5 lakh each for the Next of Kin of those who lost their lives in the tragic shooting stones incident at Shiv Khori in Reasi district. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000 each and the UT Government will bear the cost of their treatment. The Lt Governor expressed grief over the loss of lives during the unfortunate incident and directed the District Administration to provide all necessary assistance to the bereaved families and ensure the best possible treatment to the injured. “Deeply anguished by the loss of precious lives in a tragic incident at Shiv Khori. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones. I pray for the early recovery of the injured”, said the Lt Governor.

Legal action also initiated against the violators SRINAGAR, AUGUST 08: In its continuous drive against illegal constructions/encroachments, the Enforcement Wing of Lake Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA) today carried out a demolition drive in the areas of Braine Phaloo, Batpora, Ishber Khonun Mohalla, Hakeem Mohalla Bagwanpora Lal Bazar, Nowpora and Kanitar/Saderbal. During the drive, illegal structures including three 2nd storeys and one 3rd storey that were under construction were demolished.
