J&K wheelchair basketball girl welcomed at Srinagar airport

Another wheelchair basketball player from Kashmir, Ishrat was received at Srinagar International Airport by the officials of J&K Sports Council. Ishrat, like Insha who arrived yesterday, was also part of the Indian women's wheelchair basketball team that won the silver medal in an international tournament. For Ishrat, this was the second international outing as she represented the country earlier in an international event in Thailand. “I always dreamt of making it big despite my physical limitations and by representing the country in international events, I feel the journey has just begun and I am ready to give my best shot whether it comes to training or performing in the bigger events,” said elated Ishrat. Director RDD Kashmir reviews progress of developmental works in Srinagar

The Director Rural Development Department (RDD) Kashmir, Imam Din today reviewed the progress of developmental works in District Srinagar. Before convening review meeting in the meeting hall of Directorate, the Director visited both the Panchayats of CD-Blocks of district Srinagar to assess the achievements being made under different developmental schemes like MGNREGA, UT-Capex, Aspirational Block Development Programme, PMAY-G etc. During the review meeting, progress of all the schemes was reviewed in detail. The exhibition was organised by Department of Handicrafts and Handloom Kashmir in association with J&K Handicrafts and Handloom Corporation. Div Com reviews land acquisition for Delhi- Katra Expressway, Jammu Poonch NH

Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar today reviewed the land acquisition process for Delhi-Katra Expressway project, Jammu Poonch National Highway and Army firing range. The Delhi-Katra expressway corridor will cover as many as 229 villages in four major districts of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir including Kathua, Samba, Jammu and Reasi. The Expressway, in the Union Territory, will be 130-Km in length with 4 packages namely package 14, 15, 16 and 17. Once the project completes, the national capital will be directly connected to the holy town Katra the base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi. Govt. promotes two officers of JKAS to Selection Grade

The Government on Monday promoted two officers of Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) to the Selection Grade. An order issued in this regard by General Administration Department reads that sanction is hereby accorded to the promotion of Subash Chander Dogra and Rajeev Magotra to the Selection Grade of Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service in pay level 12 (78800-209200).
