 Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), B L Verma, today concluded his two day tour of Anantnag. The visit was part of Centre government’s ambitious public outreach program which is aimed at to assess the ground situation and take the feedback from the public and PRIS so that corrective measures are taken remove development deficit. The Minister chaired an officers’ meeting to review the development scenario and implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes and other programmes in the district. Verma enquired about the implementation of Har Ghar Nal Se Jal scheme and was informed that the schemes for the same are being implemented under JJM and are under execution. Police arrests 02 drug peddlers in Ganderbal; Contraband substance recovered   November 13: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Ganderbal have arrested 02 drug peddlers and also recovered contraband substance.   A Police party of PS Kheerbawani during patrolling on Tulmulla road arrested a drug peddler identified as Wahid Bashir Dar son of Bashir Ahmad Dar resident of Masherpora. Pensioners shdn’t pay heed to false propaganda to visit offices for getting Pension: Social Welfare

To clear the air regarding false propaganda being spread with respect to department asking for physical presence of beneficiaries to get pension, the Directorate of Social Welfare (DSW) Kashmir today informed that in lieu with Jammu and Kashmir Integrated Social Security Rules 2022 application for grant of pension under Integrated Social Security Scheme shall be submitted Online and beneficiaries no longer require to visit departmental offices. It was further informed that the department has already shifted to electronic mode of fund transfer whereby the beneficiaries are provided financial assistance through online mode directly into their  bank accounts and are not required to visit any of the offices in this regard.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Gurez organized an awareness camp on “Out Scaling of Natural Farming” at Koragbal, block Bagtore.   More than 70 tribal farmers and farm women participated in the event.       T-10 (10/10) Cricket Tournament   Bright Sunny day, in winters, is considered an elixir in the valley and some exciting cricketing action on such a day adds spice to life. In an initiative of 117 Battalion, CRPF of Srinagar Sector, under guidance of Sh. Mathew A. John, DIG, Srinagar South, a Ten-Ten cricket tournament was organised at Municipal Park Jawahar Nagar. This unique format of cricket elicited tremendous response from the youngsters and a total of 8 teams participated in the tournament.
