Central Waqf Records will be digitized within 100 days: Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi

81st meeting of Central Waqf Council was today held at the office of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Saket, New Delhi which was presided over by Union Minister of Minority Affairs Sr Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Chairperson of Waqf Development Committee of Central Waqf Council Dr Darakhshan Andrabi and Secretary of the Ministry Shri Jane Aalam. The meeting reviewed the work of updation of the Council records in digital format and the measures taken for retrieving of the encroached properties of the Waqf throughout the country during the congress rule in the country. Minister Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar abbas Naqvi announced that the record of all the properties and assets of Central Waqf Council will be digitized within 100 days from now and it will soon after be tabulated and kept on open website for public information. Presenting the report on table Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that all the State Waqf Boards will be asked to follow the same system of digitizing the Waqf properties and assets with a stipulated time span. She said that she will soon take up the issue with the J&K State Administration to initiate a programme of digitizing the waqf records so that the people of J&K also get the assurance trhat Waqf will not be misused for political benefits in future. Dr Andrabi hailed the directions of Union Minister Shri Naqvi for his orders to start legal action against all those found guilty in misuse/encroachment of Waqf property throughout country.
