Deputy Mayor reviews snow clearance operations, dewatering arrangements in the city  Greets Sikh community on the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Expresses grief over Bemina incident

 Deputy Mayor Srinagar, Sheikh Imran on Saturday reviewed the situation of Srinagar city areas after a snowfall and also visited Gurudwara Chatti Padshahi at Rainawari.
On the occasion, Deputy Mayor greeted the Sikh community on Guru Gobind Singh Ji Jayanti. Imran checked overall arrangements for the devotees.
Greeting the gathering, Imran said, “Guru Gobind Singh Ji showed us the path of salvation by spreading the cult of devotion to God and message of love, compassion, and spirituality among mankind.”
To check snow clearance operations in city, Deputy Mayor visited over more than dozens areas including city centre Lal Chowk, Jamia Masjid, Rajouri Kadal, Bohori Kadal, Lakut Dal, Khawaja Sahib, Khanqai Mohalla,Zoig Lanker Dastageer Sahab Shrine, Makdoom Sahib Shrine, Maisuma, Residency road and several interior areas of Downtown.
He was accompanied by senior officials, corporators and officials from the mechanical department. Imran also directed SMC employees to clear snow from roads, lanes and shrines in the entire city.
Deputy Mayor also visited Psychiatric Hospital Srinagar and inquired about challenges in the faced due to inclement weather by patients.
Imran said that SMC had adequate men and machinery have been active for snow clearance operations in the city. He said SMC has established control rooms for the convenience of the general public.
Imran also directed the officers to ensure clearance of snow from main roads, lanes, and by-lanes in the city, especially on roads leading to important installations.
Deputy Mayor also expressed grief and shock over the tragic incident in Mansoor Colony, Bemina area of Srinagar in which five members including two minors of a family died.
Imran has also conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family who lost their dear ones in this tragic incident. He urged that the dead bodies of deceased be immediately airlifted to their native village in Tangdhar as the road is closed after heavy snowfall.
